Barney was nominated in the category of Coach/Mentor of the Year.
The Stevie® Awards for Women in Business are the world’s premier awards for women executives, entrepreneurs, and the organizations they run.
Barney said she was honored just to be nominated in a field of so many amazing and talented women. She said that she was completely humbled upon learning she had won. Barney said, “I’m extremely proud of the Avalanche organization and the players and staff that have helped build it into one of the best clubs in the country! We have had the privilege of sending almost 200 girls on to college soccer programs on millions of dollars in scholarships. We are proud of that record and only see this organization growing stronger in the future.”
The Stevie Awards were created to honor the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide. Beginning with The American Business Awards in 2002, The International Business Awards in 2003, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business in 2004, the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service in 2006, and the new Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards in 2013. The Stevie has become one of the world’s most coveted awards. For more information go to www.stevieawards.com.
